Friends
I was reading an article in a magazine and came across a
very interesting piece of information. According to recent study, it was found
that those who had a large network of friends outlived those with the fewest
friends by 22%. The reason being good friends discourage unhealthy
behaviors such as smoking and heavy drinking. The companionship provided by
friends may ward off depression, boost self-esteem, and provide support.
One of the important requirements for leading an ideal life
is having good friends. A good friend is a blessing in disguise. Friends are
your worst critics but are your biggest fans. They are the ones whom you fight
with all the time but without them, you will be nothing but lonely. They might
get into your nerves but, at the same time, they are a stress buster. Friendship to life is like an anchor to the
boat; it keeps you hooked up to what is important in life and will never let
you wander clueless.
If you have three friends in your life whom you can trust
blindly and love unconditionally; your life is set. Three friends who will
always ask you how your day was and will listen to you for hours (even if they
are on a date). Three friends who will love you for what you are and won’t try
to change you (however annoying you may be).
Three friends who can bear your worst temperament (in the process of
which, they might lose their own). Three friends whom you can call at the
middle of the night just to share a silly joke (chances are that the joke might
be stupid and not funny). Three friends to whom you can confess your worst
fears knowing that they won’t judge you (I am Dexter, the dark passenger). Three friends whom you can cry your heart out
to (crying is not that bad). Three friends to whom you will write a suicide
note (if you are thinking about writing one). 7 billion people in the world,
and all you need is to find those three people!!
For some people, friendship may look like a costly affair. All
the long telephone bills, gifts and most importantly, parties!! “I saw my
crush”… “Party!!”; “I managed to bunk the class”…”Party!!”; “My boss called me
to his cabin and gave me a last warning for coming late to office”….”He could
have asked you to leave but instead gave you a warning..You still have a job. Party!!”
….and the list goes on and on…. But, I say, these are not expenses, it’s an
investment. Having a good friend surely pays off.
What’s the fun of having a grand wedding when you don’t have
friends to empty the bar..
What’s the joy on a salary hike if u don’t have anyone to
celebrate your success with..
What’s the excitement of having a boyfriend like Clark Kent,
if u can’t boast about it to your friends..
So, have you found your friends for life?? If yes, treasure
them; if not, its time u start looking for them J
Happy to have u as one of the best friends....cheers!!! to our evergreen and everlasting friendship :) :)
